I like the idea that the trip computer shows you your average MPG. It's a great motivator to drive at normal speeds like a normal person and put the cruise control on.
But what was Toyota thinking by only allowing updates every 30 seconds? Even Buick can show you instant fuel economy. I think Toyota dropped the ball on that. Does anyone know a way to tweak this to decrease the time between updates?
It's also nice to know your average speed, but if you're using cruise control on a long trip, this feature seems rather redundant. I'd have like to have seen a highest speed reading that can be reset between trips, kind of like a telltale button.
Does anyone have a better use for the average speed function?
