Finally got some time to work on this beast.. Got my knuckles installed.. Also started my rear tire carrier

Also started a semi exofor a customer!
Pretty bad 4runner! 3.4 super charged.. Elockers front and back.. Pretty sick truck.. Made better by stanley fabrication! She looks mean!!

Not toyota related but finally got my f150 running after 3 years!!

welp, im getten ready for another year of the marlin crawler round up.. sounds like its going to be pretty fun!

i decided the body kounts for the rear needed some attention.. and i said meh i might as well build a cage for it as well..

also figured the steering needed some help so im doing hydro assist from PSC..
more work the. i thought it would be but its coming out nice.. im also double sheering all the steering because i will have alot more steering..

Awesome thread. I'm currently thinking about "building a 4Runner" and have been looking at the Trekkers a lot. Basically what I'm looking at is taking an Xtra Cab Longbed pickup and mounting 4Runner seats in the rear, leaving the rest of the bed for cargo space. Obviously it will require a lot of sheet metal fabrication, but I figure the bed sides can be grafted to the B-pillars, and the rear window/rear cab panel can just be cut out-this is done on flatbed pickups all the time with no structural issues. Once I have thread starting privileges I'll post up some drawings.

why dont you just buy a 4runner and cut the rear half the cab off?

im not really following what your trying to do but eh ... to each there own

I am thinking of putting an 80 front under my 81 with 17' SCS wheels, and was wondering if you are running spacers up front? If so how wide? Thanks!

u know what.. to match the rear t100 axle i am running i think 3/4 spacers.. this axle is zing and im glad i did the swap.. the scs wheels are even better. only issue with running vins wheels is u need to ream out the center cap nub on the inner bore of the wheel.. that way it fits over the hubs.. its just a small lip.
you dont need to run spacers if ur matching it to a skinnier axle.. but i like the width of the rear..and they are not that big of spacers...


i have another build thread with the info it take to run the wider axle.. i got fairly creative but kept it simple. u need to run a 31.5 in wide axle perch and get matching shackles that widen the spring locations. i also used ruff stuff fj40 axle perches and cut them to fit.. it allows u to use bolts on the pumpkin side and not ubolts.

ill have some more pics.. soon i am finishing up my hydro assit/psc steering setup this week.

also.. even though they are pricey the hell fire knuckles are well worth it!!
