Truck sometimes wont start...starter contacts?

I have two vehicles so I will try replacing JUST the contacts and see if it remedies my problem. I'll hang onto the plunger just in case that needs swapped to.

Were you able to replace the contacts? And, did that fix your problem?

I received them but have yet to install them. I had a week where it was giving me issues starting and I havent had that issue since writing this so I haven't made it a priority. My truck has been finicky ever since I bought it.

I know this is an old thread but it's the most recent one on subject. Put new contacts and plunger in my starter today as it was having the same symptoms as the OP (starter click and slowly getting worse). Both Have to say it was the biggest PITA of all the things I've done to my truck. But it's done and it works great. Starts after 3 rotations when it used to take 6! Not sure why that is.
