Won’t start. Know it’s the contacts, but why in the hell am I burning through these?

Howdy yall.

Just a few months ago I replaced the contacts on my starter, after doing it only 6 months prior. Then today I got the dreaded “firm” click with no crank.

I’m at my wits end with this. What could be causing it to chew through contacts like this? Every time I’ve replaced them, except for once in a pinch and I’ve done these 4 times now, I’ve used the OEM kit.

What am I missing here?

Are the contacts actually chewed up? Could be something else worn in the starter. I honestly would just get a Denso reman starter and move on with life. $150 isn't really worth the diagnostic time.
