Trunk carpet replacement

Was wondering if anyone has had to replace the carpet in the trunk of a 4th gen as a result of soiling or other. Last weekend I was helping clean up after a social function and was transporting beer kegs when a tap opened and a fair amount, perhaps 1/2 a gallon of beer released onto the back section of the carpet against the tailgate before I could stop it. We immediately soaked it up and sprayed it full of resolve. The next day I got it shampooed and vacuumed. There is no stain and smelling the carpet close up it smells like fresh soap, but when I get in after its been standing closed up there is the faint smell of beer until you get moving.

Any idea on what else to try, or the cost of replacing the carpet?

i would pull the carpet out and crub it with a good soap then pressure wash it. then i let it full dry uppside down so the foam under neath can dry. I would spray natures miracle on it(stronger febreeze). this is what i would do i would hate to take a breathalizer just because my truck stinks.

To remove rear carpet take out the all the phillipsp head screw on the scuff plate on the bottom of the tailgate. the remove the 2 10mm bolts where the black hooks are. These are right behind the backseat in the little plastic hook cups. then pull it out.. its carpet with platic materiial backing and then some foam under. the foam is where need to take the cleaning and drying.

also, while the carpet is out spray some of the odor sprays under the plastic side panals.

depending on how bad the odor is i probably would take all the panals out. i hav=te the smell of old coronas or heinekiens

Thanks for the tip, you were right. The foam was still soaked in the one corner, so much so there there was a little pool of beer in one of the grooves! So its been cleaned the the carpet is outside drying.
