Trying to order rear bumper part and confused

Toyota is not making this easy. I need the right rear section of a steel bumper for my 2001 SR5 with large factory flares. First question - is there only one chrome piece and the differences are bolt holes for the fender or fender flare attachemnt? ie can I get one from a junkyard and then drill the holes?

If I try to order the OEM section I see multiple, confusing descriptions such as
Extension - w/o limited, w/o sports - that could be my SR5 but also I see
Extension - w/o limited, chrome, w/ large fender - that is closer but I have no idea what "large fender" means.
I am guessing the description that does not say chrome is for SR5 models that were not sports models but had painted bumpers.
Any thoughts....

Extension - w/o limited, chrome, w/ large fender

is what you need. It's pretty much the same part is a 96-98 Limited. Chrome but with holes.

Found one in local yard but w/o flares so no holes. I know you can't drill thru chrome plated stuff and have good cosmetic results but is the inner section where the holes need to be drilled chromed or is it just metal?

I have no idea exactly what you are asking here.
Are you asking can you drill a bumper front side on rear side extensions for the limited flare holes?

That answer is the front bumper and side extensions are metal for the bumpers. So yes you can but what the results would be I have no idea as around my area all the original bumpers are gone and I have to buy A/M replacements from Rock Auto and make those work. Or pay very heavy pricing for new OEM Replacements.

Chrome is just a thin coating over steel - you drill it just like any other steel. You will want to protect wherever you drill with paint to keep it from rusting. Check if the holes are round or square - square holes are pretty hard to drill...

The entire outside surface are chromed and Toyota didn't leave it bear.

Chromium is electroplated to the steel. It's like a paint coating and you can drill right with a sharp drill bit no problem.

2001 SR5 with large factory flares.

The large flare description is for the painted limited/sport flare. The other flare options are the thin rubber strips with chrome insert, and the bare black plastic SR5 flares.
The SR5 and thin rubber flares are clipped on, verses the limited and sport flares need holes in the bumper to mount on.
