Trying to select my shocks and would like some advice

Hi there,

First of all, thanks for reading and thanks more to those who help me :hatsoff:

I have the Toytec/Eibach front coils for 3" of lift and some FJ80 8-wraps in the rear for just over 3 inches of lift.

Now has come the time to buy some shocks and I can't decide which are the ones I need.

I've read Rickashay's build thread and he suggests using these Bilstein 5100s on his Toyota Tundra 1999-2006 2wd & 4wd Bilstein 5100 Series Ride Height Adjustable

But I've come across these 5100s and I'm not sure if they will work or not as I can't find a way to compare specs between the two. Forum Member Special RCD/Bilstein 2nd Gen Package

As you can see, there is a 60 buck difference between the two. If anyone can shine some light and enlighten my noobish mind on the difference between these two other than one saying Tundra and the other saying Tacoma, that would be awesome!

The tundra adjustable struts have 5 different lift settings which allow for finer tuning. The tacoma shocks you linked to will not work, they are for 05+ Tacoma's not the 95.5-04 tacoma which has the similar front suspension geometry to the 3rd gen 4runner. The 95.5-04 adjustable bilsteins that places like toytec sell have 3 levels of adjustment and have a "softer" valving then the tundra shocks.

Just to qualify my statement I use the Tundra adjustable and love them so I am biased in my opinion.

Oh ok that makes sense now. So it's worth my money just to go with the Tundra shocks and have the peace of mind they will work for sure?

$60 bucks for a job done right seems worth it.
