Tundra 6112 Bilstein On 3rd Gen. Info & Install

I've been running Tundra 6112's for about two years now. I am on the 3/4 notch and sitting around 2.25 inches of lift. I have a front bumper and no winch installed. I drove the truck with this same setup with stock bumpers for ~6 months when I was building it and the ride quality is awesome. I have no driven in a truck with 4Runner 6112's but the Tundra ones ride perfectly IMO. I would not change a thing. I've ran several setups personally in 4Runner builds and I don't think you can beat Tundra 6112's for the money. Just make sure you have aftermarket UCA's and limit straps to help with the extra droop (due to them being longer than the 4Runner shocks).

Wanted to get some more feedback from those running Tundra 6112s on their 3rd gens.

what perches do you have them set on? What gear are you running up front? and Do you have a spacer before your shock?

3.5-4k mi hi-way & trail since May's tweaks current setup a good place to stop before diving into King money.
How it's turned out after flip/flopping on cost vs bang for buck.

I’m wanting to do 6112/5160 combo on my 2001. I will be adding front and rear bumpers. Looks like the tundra version is the way to go to account for the extra weight? Or do I get the 4Runner version with a stiffer spring?
Any help would be appreciated, I feel completely lost!

I can't speak to the tundra version, but the 4runner version is awesome. Would do it again easily.

The ride quality and how well it takes the bumps when used with some kind of bump setup is pretty impressive.

Wheeler's off-road offers a heavier rate spring for the front if you need. I think you can even get it from Bilstein if you want the other one they sell is a King Spring if I remember right. It's on their website for sure though. Showing the different rates and everything.

You’re not running bumpers right? I plan on getting the 4x innovations front and rear with a tire carrier. Should I go for the heavier springs from wheelers?

No just. A hidden winch. No steel bumpers, yet.
