Tundra and Tacoma to share platform

So i just read the the new Tundra and the future Tacoma will be sharing a platform..I thought the 4runner was going to share that platform as well? anybody have info?

I believe all BOF vehicles are set to share a unified platform. I don't know what that really means though. Shared suspension? Shared frame design? I don't think a Tundra could realistically share a frame with a 4Runner and not either be too heavy for the 4Runner or too light for the Tundra. Maybe it's just suspension geometry and design being shared along with sharing a lot of the easy stuff like steering boxes, interior stuff like fans and computers, and overlap in the drive train between them.

I'm also curious to see if the Tundra returns to a 6 lug or if the taco/t4R become 5 lug. I found it interesting that the Tundra test mule has 6 hole rims. So I suspect it will go back to a 6 lug wheel pattern.

I agree with having a uniform 6 lug on all of the Toyota BOF vehicles. It certainly would be easier not having to switch my trailer hubs again to have matching spares if I ever move away from the 4runner.
