I have standard 5 spoke 16" wheels and I'm about to do this. I saw one guy I think on yotatech grind the back of his rims...I do not want to do this.

Will they fit with no mod to the rim?
I know that the dust shield needs it, but rim grinding is a no go.

Grind the caliper if necessary but not the wheel.

I'd recommend on not grinding calipers. Nor wheels, for that matter.

Had a caliper go out on me once, on my SC300, after I upgraded to the LS400 brakes.
Not a very fun experience.

It's a widely performed practice that if you need a few millimeters of clearance that you take it from the caliper. Anyone taking it from a wheel with anything less than a cnc machine or a lathe is a fool. And we aren't talking a 1/4" or 1/8". That's dumb to take off that much. But a few mm off the top won't hurt anything.

Horrible advice. There are TONS of people who have tried this and most of them grind into the fluid passage that runs through that area. The ones that don't have weakened it to the point where a failure is more likely.

Don't half ass things like brakes! :wacko:

I don't feel comfortable with anyone doing it, so I'm going to give you the public safety message every time you suggest this stupid shit. I may be the person you rear end when your half assed brakes let go. Hacking on brake calipers is a stupid idea whether you think you're successful or not.

Unless you are a mechanical engineer and have performed analysis, you have no business modifying a critical part like a caliper or rim.
