Tundra Brakes.. And 16" 5-star rims

I know this is on this forum lots of places but if I do the 231mm Tundra Brake Upgrade will I need to trim my dust shields on my 02' 4Runner? I have the 16" five star wheels. If I need to trim them I was just going to trim the same pattern that SpeedysGarage did.

Also, is the complete kit from Callahan Brake Parts okay? Seems to have great reviews on amazon.

Yes, it's required in order for the larger calipers to fit - has nothing to do with which wheels you have.

You'll have to trim, I just held up the caliper and got a rough idea and gave it a buzz. Not too tricky. Doesn't hurt to overshoot a little to give you some room. Rather that than too close and rubbing aka. squeaking

Some have complained that the drilled and slotted rotors are not as good as a standard rotor, if that's the powerstop kit that others link on here quite often. I have not tried it myself but I do have powerstop calipers (from Rockauto, super cheap) and they work very good. Almost all calipers are reman'd OEM ones though so it doesn't really matter on the brand.

My red Tundra caliper and disc and pad upgrades. You might be able to see the dust shield modifications. A well worthy upgrade. Fun to do as well.
