Tundra/LC 8-Wraps - Rear Shocks? Tundra or LC Rears?

I originally ordered front and rear shocks for a Tundra, in order to lift my '98 4Runner. I was going to go with Tundra springs up front, LC 8-wraps in the rear, and Bilstein 5100's for the Tundra for front AND back.

I've been hearing some advice to stay away from the Tundra Bilstein 5100's in the rear, and to use LC Bilstein's instead. Can someone confirm that this is the route I should go with the 8-wrap LC's in the rear? I don't want to blow these shocks after installing all of this (my biggest fear), and I will definitely be extending the bump-stops when I put it on.

Thanks for the help - It's decided that I will go with the adjustable Tundra FRONT shocks (BIL-24188265) but I don't know what would be the smartest to do for the rear.

I have the 5100 (E703 HO) rears & was wondering if I could use them with 8 wraps.

I went with the BIL 24-100144 and BIL 24-188265. I had to swap the lower bushing on the rear shocks for the 3/4" energy suspension ones. Hope that helps!

Yours are for the LC & mine are for the Tundra (i think). They came from a SS kit for the T4R mated with the OME 890's so my bushings should be fine. I'm just hoping they have enough travel for the 8 wraps.

For folks on a budget, the Monroe SensaTrac LC rear shocks work great!
