Turning in 4x4 TRD pro

I have an ‘18 Pro. This is my 5th 4Runner. When I’m 4 wheel drive, it really doesn’t like turning at 70-80% of wheel lock. Gets tight and starts to make noise. No other 4Runner I’ve had with a manual diff felt like this.

Is this normal?

That's how my SR5 is in a parking lot when I forget to take it out of 4wd.

Like I said, this is my 5th 4Runner. Been driving them since the mid 90’s. Only one of those was full time 4x4. My ‘18 has less than 2k mikes on it. Have you ever heard of putting it in 4x4 to keep things lubbed?

Yeah in fact you're supposed to put it in 4WD periodically, but not while turning on pavement. Read your manual that was provided with the truck. It's okay to use it on pavement if you're going straight for a little but that's it. Since the wheels have to turn at different rates during a turn, keeping both axles locked 50/50 like you are is causing binding and if you want to inevitability break stuff, then keep at it.

Normal- but if it was a limited full time 4wd it would turn normal on pavement.
If your doing u- turn or even tight turns your going to damage your unit.

Normal. Keep turning in a tight circle in a cement parking lot. You'll hear a big noise, then it it will quit doing what you are describing.

You're not supposed to do that in a part-time 4WD vehicle, which lacks a center differential. On dirt/rocks/snow, where the wheels can slip, it's fine. On pavement, you're causing the drivetrain to bind.
