My 4runner sold on Monday and I ended up finding this GX470 at a small dealership right down the road the same day. I have been wanting to do a build with the GX470 body style for a long time. Being able to stand out and show what a Tuxedo 120 can do is going to be a really fun experience. This will be my 6th build where I plan to take a lot of what I've learned from the past and put it to good use as I invest into making this the best Daily Driver Weekend Warrior possible.

Sharp truck, what year is it? KDSS? What are your plans for it?

Thanks Ian, it's a 04 and I was considering doing a rough country 6" on it with 35's believe it or not but now I think All Pro will be getting my business to better suit it for wheeling and not breaking. There's no KDSS on the truck thank God. Seth's build will be a lot of my motivation and bases for mine.

I'm going to miss your 4th gen, it was one of the cleanest builds I've seen. But I'm excited to see this one from the start. Let me know if you want any help, or if you want to let go of those wheels!

Thanks Scott for the kind words. I do miss the old truck but it is in very good hands now and getting treated right. If I don't end up swapping these on my dad's third gen then you have first dibs at buying them. Parts are starting to come in now so I can get back out on the trails soon.

Jun 1, 2014 While I'm piecing the last loose ends of my lift together I decided to update the lights and audio.

In the mix of getting parts in I took the time to do a thorough Sea Foam Treatment and a carbon Filter Delete. It seems to help with the pickup a bit so I am please so far. I also treated the leather to prevent inevitable cracking.

Finally I can get started on the lift. The parts look so nice they could go in a glass case. I will always run Radflo and looking forward to trying this setup out. 2.5" extended travel front and rear.

We were finally able to get the lift put on the Lexus after a few hangups and such. I've never had to fool with air bags when doing a lift before so it look a little longer than expected after sorting everything out. I am more than happy with the lift and the ride quality of the parts. The truck has about 3/4" rake on it with the 3.5" Lift FJ coils. The running boards have been removed and the passenger side damaged ABS wire was cut out with a new one spliced in.

Now I'm just waiting for the SCS container to come in with my SC8 wheels so I can buy tires. After I get the tires on and see where I am rubbing I may run a 1" Body lift but still in the air about it until I get it on the trail and see how it does when it's legs are stretched.

I am so happy to post that my SCS SR8 wheels have finally arrived. Looking forward to getting these mounted as soon as I get my tires.

Tires are here and looking quite nice. I haven't ran STT since my 2000 4runner on 35's but they were hands down my favorite. Cooper Tires will always be on my trucks.

We got the wheels and tires mounted today. I also had the alignment done while there as well. I am more than happy with how it's coming along. It's always nice when you see the fruit of your labor come fourth. The side walls are so stiff it to both of us and a pry bar to get them mounted. I had to trim some fat off but after the body mount chop there should be no more rubbing.
