U-POL Raptor Black Bedliner paint job

Hi Everyone,

It's been a while but I recently started putting work in the 97 SR5. Picked up a set of K02's and they are amazing to say the least. Took it up to Tahoe over the holiday weekend and ended up pulling some kids out of a snow bank. They went skiing with no chains!

I am getting ready to paint the 4runner using Raptor Black Bedliner and my home air compressor (huge one). I have watched a few videos about prepping and sanding and was wonder if any of you had TIPS and/or PHOTOS of your SPRAYED on Raptor/LineX bedliner paint job. Also, how many cans of the Raptor liner would I need?

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

751 tinted Raptor Liner

It took me 8 liters, or two kits. Sanded with 180 and A LOT of taping. Removed all of the door glass and rubbers.

I always use it for undercoating on my classic cars. the key is clean and good bite. oh... cover anything you don't want it on. it gets everywhere.

i rolled mine on and it came out smoother than spraying, just used 6" foam rollers from ace

I used 6 quarts total. 8 would be more than enough. I also did not do bumpers/fender fares.
I sprayed at around 70 psi at the gun, nice texture, not rough at all.

I left all glass on, took the bumpers and lights off, masked under the rubber around the windows where possible. I used 55gal trash bags cut in half for the tires.

I'd recommend starting by outlining the panel, so the cracks get a little extra coverage. Also, start with the roof and work your way down. Be careful around the door handles, and I'd use a razor blade to cut some room between the top of swinging part of the handle and the body while it's drying, if that makes sense. It can build up and tear off when you are opening the door handle for the first time.
