UBJs National Back Order

So I have now tried to place two separate orders from two separate dealers for upper ball joints. Also both of these dealers are from separate regions ( east and west US).

Both have came back with that the parts are on a back order. Camelback Toyota told me it was a National Back order. What gives?

Does anyone have any insight? Did the part numbers change? Below is what i have for a part number.

UBJ L & R : 43310-39016

Yeah, if they were only not out of my budget at the moment. I really wanted to do new UCAs alas I cannot at the moment. But my uppers are popping so i need to do something.

If you need your vehicle and its going to fail just get some auto part store ones till you can get the others in there. Thats a lot of work just to hold you off but you might have to do that.

Or if you can get some SPC UCA's. They are going for about $399 on amazon right now, I got lucky and got them for $370 shipped.
 
I a few weeks back ran into the same problem 3 toyota dealers could not get them and i was forced to buy "auto parts store " ball joints . The best ones i could find are at NAPA the 555 sankie they are about $50 each and believe me i searched for the best i could get these are made in japan .

If you have to these seem to be higher quality than most aftermarkets. I mean they cost more than OEM which is nuts!!! LOL.
 
For that many to go on back order Toyota pulled them for some reason. I wish I knew why. i just looked at the log. over 300 have been pulled onto back order status
 
Damn. I was gonna order some soon to finish refreshing my suspension before the lift goes on. Maybe it's a sign I should just go aftermarket UCAs...
 
I thought Camelback was only selling UBJs that were already pressed into new UCAs.

I'd be curious to know what Greg finds out.

Ones from NAPA should at least get ya 25,000 miles on the road and considering their the upper ones, maybe much more.

Please let me know what you find out. I might just have to save and get some LR UCAs. They have a lot of benefits but i really wanted some Total Chaos in the future.

I have bought multiples without the control arms, been over a year since I have though. Crazy if they discontinued them.

Either way to the OP. If your lifted and wheel even OEMS will fail due to the angle they sit at. The boots rip fast and I had one loosen up and cause me to fail alignment after about 15k miles. Thats when I ended up going SPC uca's.

I am lifted and wheel, but yeah the boots have large tears in them at the moment and pop going over bumps like into my drive way, stopping really quick going forward or reverse. :shocked:

Both my new UBJ's from toyota tore in about a months time. With my front 3" they where very angled causing the boot to touch itself. One loosened up and had a lot of play after a summer of wheeling.

But others dont have any issues. I didnt want to replace them again and bit the bullet for SPC's.

Are you saying that they told you they were on backorder and you just waited for them to get in?

Interesting concept, this patience you speak of... I just don't fully understand how it works. :rapture:
 
They had them separate but i placed the order and 1 hour later a girl calls and says they are on national back order and some customers have been waiting 2 months and they have no idea when they will come in ! Then she tells me i should go aftermarket -i'm like ok thanks :bash:. I should have just bought upper arms

I see a few dealers in my area, North Texas that have 1 each, and a dealer in Durant, OK with 2. Backorder shouldn't be more than 5 days from Toyota. I say this after many years of experience buying wholesale Toyota parts. Backorder 90% of the time means the part is simply not in stock at the local or Facing depot. So your local warehouse doesn't have it, it gets backordered and referred to another depot. That depot's local orders get filled first, then your order gets filled, so if they run out at that Depot, you get kicked to the next one, usually Ontario California. This is a main depot for the entire USA, most of the Toyota parts come in through here, then out to other warehouses.

If your local dealer says they don't have it, and it's gonna be forever to get, check https://www.partsvoice.com/partsearch - I do it all the time and buy parts from dealers all over the country. Sometimes you can get them to match internet prices.
