UCA hitting tire

Suunds like my tire is hitting my UCA when I turn all the way, only on the driver side. I had my driver side front end pretty much rebuilt after an accident and I was wondering if there is a way to fix this (i'm thinking the mechanic messed up) without getting wheel spacers. Why could this happen and what could they have messed up?

Are you all stock with stock tire size? If you just had work done and something is not right, get the vehicle back to them and explain what you're experiencing. There should be evidence of something rubbing. It could be something as simple as a bad alignment, but more than likely, something could be bent enough to throw off the geometry or cause something to rub.

Yeah, I am.

The work was done a while ago, but I never paid attention to it. I've theorized that the frame is a bit bent, it's been a pain to do alignments.

Yeah... something is tweaked for sure if you're hitting the UCA with stock tires. Can you see the rub marks on the inside of the tire or on the UCA? Your comment about it happening only when you turn makes me think you're hitting either the front of the fender liner or the mudflap as a result of some whacky caster angle.

I would bet that the steering knuckle is bent. Take it to a good alignment shop so they can check it especially the Steering Axis Inclination (SAI). Little info on it here:

May be the fender liner, don't think it's the mud flap.. the noise is like click lick click bang.

I'll check for rub marks tomorrow and report back
