UCA's and diff drop.

At what lift height do you need to install a differential drop kit and aftermarket UCA's? If I got a lift and set the front at 2" would I benefit from either of these, or is it only necessary on 3" and greater lifts? I wouldn't mind spending the extra money if it's better for the vehicle.

You dont want to lift more than 3'' unless its a DB lift, you'll want to hold off on a diff drop right away and see what your CV's look like. Some people do just fine without one, and some even get vibes after dropping theirs while others need one to get rid of vibes. Every truck will be different. As for the UCA's, the closer to 3'' you get the more out of spec your alignment will be without aftermarket ones, I personally wouldn't run a lift without them. Light racing makes a great set for a good price.

Just my two cents...upgraded UCA's aren't necessary, especially for a modest lift. I have a 3" lift running stock UCA and although I didn't do the alignment myself (therefore I am unsure how true to spec the alignment was) I haven't experienced any wandering on the roadway. I suppose if I had the extra cash, after reading the opinions of many of the other forum members, I would have just went ahead and slapped on LR UCA's, particularly due to the fact that they seem to be the best value (strengh/price).

Absolutely, not only are they completely adjustable and will allow you to have a perfect alignment, but when you pick one up the difference in quality/strength is immediately noticed.
