Amazon, Specialty Pro UCA

Nothing particularly great about that UCA from Specialty Pro. Who is SP and where is their fabrication shop? Where would you go for service or a refund if it fails? What about replacement parts like bushings and ball joints. What kind of bushings does it have? Are there instructions for installation? Who designed the geometry and how much camber adjustment does it offer for a lift? How large of a shock will it accommodate? You want to be able to upgrade to 2.5 inch King, Fox or ICON shocks and be able to lift.

One big problem with shopping on Amazon is the lack of specific info about products. You have to do a search for the manufacturer to get more info, or go to the vendor's website. Amazon lists lots of products from 3rd party vendors and stores.

For a stronger assembly look at the JBA UCA for the same price. For a few dollars more look at the JBA with reinforced bushing mounts ($700). Look at ICON, Rokeman, Dirt King or Total Chaos UCAs.

Here is their actual webiste.

I ran SPC arms, be it the older version and was ok with them. They were easy to adjust and held up fine. The older version was prone to failing at the welds and I witnessed it first hand. The newer versions are better. The bushings can be replaced and so can the ball joints. I have heard the customer services is ok too.

+1 for JBA. I opted for their non heavy duty version and I was surprised at how stout they were. Great customer service too. Sent me a reminder email when it was time to grease the ball joints lol.

Yes, and that's the problem with shopping for equipment on Amazon. Half of the info you want to know is not there. You have to do other research to gain any confidence that the item is what you want.

I didn't make the connection between the Amazon product and SPC. I just saw the link was Specialty Pro and didn't think about SPC. I've looked at those before and was not impressed. JBA seemed like a better alternative.

This item at that price is from Amazon Prime. I'd rather buy an UCA from someone who sells off-road gear and knows something about how they should work. If there's any questions, service or parts needed, you can call the manufacturer or local shop directly.

All of the better UCA cost around $700. The ICON with their new sealed Delta Joint costs $840.
 
I have the newer SPC's and they are great. Zerks, more adjustable and more angularity than stock too. $400 on Amazon. Parts are easy to get as well. They are plenty stout short of running the Baja 500.....:hello:

What do you think you know about the Delta Joint? It's a black box. There isn't much info on them. It has a zerk fitting on the joint, it's sealed or capped in a zinc plated housing and it fits the standard ICON Tubular UCA, which sells for $700.

Here's the JBA I was thinking about getting ($700) before I got a great price on the ICON with a Delta Joint.

JBA HD High Caster Upper A-arms for 2005-14 Toyota Tacoma, 4Runner, FJ Cruiser
