UGH-Broken seat bolt

I tried installing my seat jackers from Desert Does It and ran into a problem. When I tried to tighten the bolt on the rear inside of the drivers seat frame I could not get the bolt to thread onto the nut. I tried a couple of different length bolts and it seems the nut that was probably welded underneath the metal has become dislodged. Any suggestions on how to fix this appreciated. So far, all I can think to do is use a rivnut. THANKS!

Without knowing what the assembly looks like, would it be possible to remove and then weld it back on there?

Rivnut or jack nuts work, but wonder how strong those options are given this application's safety concerns.

More than likely it's an alignment issue. Did you remove the seat jacker and try to put the seat back into the vehicle in its stock configuration?

I did try with out the seat jacker. Also tried a longer bolt hoping to feel where it it landed. All attempts failed.

Did you actually take the seat back out and see if the threads were in fact gone? It's not hard to get the seat tracks misaligned if you have had the seat out. I would not riv-nut it personally. A through bolt with a nut and washer on the bottom would be a safer bet if you don't have a welder handy. I work in automotive restoration and the number of unsafe seat and seat belt through floor fasteners that I have fixed is frightening.
