I just changed my front O2 sensor this weekend, picked up a little over 2 MPG. I'm happy, if I could keep my foot out of it I expect it will do even better.
Uh....anyone else getting 21MPG?

Was there a reason to do so? Or just because it's fairly easy to get to?

Filled up this morning and reset the trip counter at 346 miles for this tank (right at 21mpg)

I have been "trying" to drive a bit conservatively since picking her up. Ill see how the next couple tanks go as it gets colder and the weather gits worse.

Yeah, it was the original sensor, 15 years and 191K miles old. It was actually a b*tch, I had to get the nuts glowing red and use vicegrips to break it loose.

How big is the reserve? Reason I ask is I always fill up right when the low fuel light is a solid yellow and the most I can ever seem to put in the tank is about 14.5 gallons...I'm pretty sure a full tank is somewhere around 18 gallons? I guess I'm just leery of running out of gas, usually fill up when the trip meter is around 270 mi.
I averaged 19.5 mpg on a 1600+ mi trip from PA to TX recently, with a trunk full of stuff and also set on cruise control at 70-75 most of the way...also had to use 4WD a couple of times in western VA and TN when traffic was slowed down because of the snow.

The most I could get on the highway is about 21mpg. I have a 1998 4runner SR5 w 16" wheels 4x4.
