Under the hood light

Has anyone mounted or wired up some under the hood lighting? If you're wrenching on your car during these shorter days of fall/winter, it may make sense (at least for me!) and am curious if anyone has done so.

What light did you use? Always on, momentary switch or other option?

Not looking at special-effects, just a a work light variety.

i just went the easy route & installed a 12v socket on the battery to use a plug in spot/search/emergency light, that way i can hang or move it around to see under hood or truck, scan the area for critters or flag someone down with the flashing red emergency light.
