I'm planning to look at this 06 4Runner tomorrow morning. How bad do these underbody rust look?? It's from Maryland.
Not too bad imo. The truck still has the aluminum heat shields too....I lost all of mine years ago. Pay close attention to the radiator core support, thats one of the first things to rust away on these rigs. If you do buy it, I'd clean up the rusty areas and treat with fluid film or similar product.....good luck and let us know if you get it!
MD truck (originally from OH apparently but only for a couple years). This is right after I bought it, then after I wired down the rust and hit it with Eastwood Rust Encapsulating frame paint. I also hit it all with fluid film afterward.
cherishzm, there isn't hardly any rust on that frame. Mine has more than that from just this past winter, it was spotless before.

Oh really? I wasn't sure since the last 4Runner I looked at was spotless underbody so was little concerned..

Is it something you did yourself?? How much did it cost? Looks great!

That's just the bump stop pad where it is welded to the LCA right?
Horrible picture but it is cold and getting dark.
Good eye! I bet you're spot on. My bad! The shadows in OPs pic made it look more like rust peeling back.
