well, ive got a couple rounds of pretty nice work coming up here 4 the Runner. heres the list of things i am going to do so far in general:
1. change fuel injectors
2. replace valve cover gaskets
3. change timing belt
my questions are mostly about if i should do other things at the same time, and also about what all parts i should do when i do the t-belt.
1. fuel injectors and valve cover will likely happen at the same time. i have a 1st gen supercharger, so that needs to come off. -should i replace the valve cover gaskets and spark plug rings? or just tighten it down? it is leaking mildly. -should i replace the intake gaskets? - should i change the s/c oil while its off since its the first gen? so far on hand i have 6 refurb denso injectors and a new oem fuel filter. need to find oil and gaskets to do it all in one fell swoop.
2. for the timing belt, what all should i replace? obviously the belt itself, other belts, water pump and tensioner are being changed. i am wondering if i should do the cam seals, crank seal, thermostat, etc.
here is the kit im thinking of getting, its pricey but has got everything. should i go with a smaller kit if i dont really need to do all of those???
OEM Timing Belt Kit
on hand for this job so far i have the oem supercharger belt and a URD crank pulley(yup). i am going to use a URD tensioner as well, but they are out right now and its gonna be a couple weeks he said before i get it. what all else should i get???
should i do the oil pan gasket? should i do the starter while im under there doing everything? is there a better than oem belt that i should use??? (surprised URD doesnt offer one)
I know all the answers are contained somewhere on the site, but in searches i couldnt find the exact info i wanted, especially since i have the 1st gen s/c. Any info, suggestions, criticisms, or schooling welcome! Thanks all!
