Update on my 4Runner mods

Well I still haven't gotten around to putting the 1" flares on yet. LOL
BUT, I did get a 99 scooped hood.

Gonzo, did you have 16" wheels to begin with? I have the same tundra wheels you have on my 2000 2wd - but mine came with 15" wheels. I'm planning on doing the 231mm upgrade as well - just trying to work it all out in my mind. My latest thought is if I will need to get new bearings with the tundra rotors - in case the ones on my smaller rotors won't transfer over ....

I had horrible problems with shaking on my 4runner with 15" wheels too. I upgraded to TRD rotors, cross drilled and slotted and they are still going strong 70,000 miles later. No need to switch rims or do the Tundra upgrade.

Gonzo, great looking truck, I like the color and the no running boards.

Well I put it off long enough so I took today and painted the sport hood and installed the 1" molding/flares I painted a few weeks ago.
The hood came out pretty good for being painted in my yard.

so its just rattle canned? whered you get that in body matching paint?

The color is rattle can yes. Advanced Auto had it in stock.
The clear coat is NOT rattle can. That I put on using a regular air paint gun.
I also had to do it outside as I have NO room at all in my garage right now thats what I ment by it came out pretty good for doing it outside.

Another update

I got a little time lastnight and installed the cb.
I used the Cobra WX STII. I have used these before in Toyota's because of the nice fit. They also work well.
Fairly easy install. It will mount right where the little pocket under the radio is using the bracket that holds the radio and the pocket. On the cb there is 4 holes on both sides where the mike holder mounts. I use the top hole towards the front. I should have taken a pic but forgot as I was in a rush. Also for the coax to mount on the cb you will need a elbow connector. There is not enough room behind the cb for the straight end on the coax to clear so you WILL need the elbow. Rat shack or any truck stop should have it.
I did not have to do any trimming at all.
If I have time this weekend I will pull it out to get more pics.
