Updated Entunes and LOST the PANDORA app! WTF?

This morning I got a notification that here is an URGENT update for entunes...

I installed the update and lost PANDORA!

Anyone have any insight?

Yup. Hasta la vista. I hated the Pandora app in Entune anyways. It had a bunch of problems and it hardly connected for me.

I'm guessing that Pandora either stopped paying Toyota or negotiations between Pandora and Toyota failed. These apps aren't put there out of Toyota's generosity, the app vendors pay to play. But this is just a guess, I have no evidence one way or the other.

Here is what really Pisses me off... this is from their brochure when I purchased the car...sure they might think that an app is insignificant, but the car is not even 2 years old. Don't take features that you brag about at the time of purchase away.

Got the same update this morning and clicked OK. Little did I know what was going to happen. I actually thought it was a possible fix for Pandora since it was acting up the last 2 weeks.

Despite its quirkiness, it was convenient when it did work.

I read the description of what the update was going to do before I updated the entunes app on my phone so there was no surprise that Pandora was being removed.

I just run whatever app I want from my phone and use Bluetooth. Works great. :cheers:

i had never used the iheartmedia app before but used it this morning and it seems to work fine as a replacement for pandora

(i don't use my phone for media because i find it too distracting and unsafe to use my phone while driving)

ditto, I mostly stream Amazon Prime Music, just set it on bluetooth and off you go

The removal of the Pandora app and a couple others has been coming for a couple months now. The Pandora app rarely worked like it should. When it did, it was great but those instances were far and between.
