i have a jvc lol hu (which i will change sometime down the road)... w/ stock speakers all around.... i ordered the infinity basslink which will be here in a couple days.
im keeping the back door speakers stock 4 now.
I guess my question is instead of getting the component set.... Would just putting 6 1/2 2ways upfront sound pretty good with what i have?

i just want it to sound good... not really looking to have an awesome system.

Go with the components. Your soundstage will DRASTICALLY be affected by putting the tweets down there at the bottom of the doors. You want good sound, get a component set. I know they are usually alot more expensive, but then get a decent set within your budget. You'll regret if if you buy coaxials and those tweeter pods up top are putting out nothing.

....unless someone has actually installed coax's and hears no difference, but I'd be surprised.

Basslink 1? 2? T? Show the pics and let us know how it sounds after you install it!

its basslink 1.
ok heres why i asked this...
i had a 98 dodge durango w/ six speaker...set up like the 4runner... it had stock HU and all i did was put some 3way poineers in the doors but left the tweeter on top stock. and it sounded awesome. the only thing i think was different was that the durango had an amp hidden behind the kickpanel i believe not sure.... but sounded great w/ just the speaker swap.

now i got the 4runner... and decide to put a sub in...(basslink)... and it had an aftermarket HU already in it.. while not nothin special im gonna keep it 4 now.

maybe since i have an amp layin around somewhere... i could put some 2 or 3 ways upfront and power them with the amp since the 4runner doesnt have one like the durango did.

guess u see what im doing.... just tryin to keep a tight budget and have it sound good all at the same time..

what u think?
