Upgrade from 4th gen to 5th gen 4Runner, worth it?

I started looking on FB and auto sites for a newer version of the 4Runner and there is a huge jump in price for essentially the same truck with a different skin. My 2007 sport I estimate at $10-12,000. A 2014 with the same mileage is $19,000. I plan to keep my truck as long as I can. I replaced the front grill a month ago and Im extremely happy with the look plus it lets more air into the condenser, a must in OK the truck has been updated on the maintenance and runs great, no accidents. Probably need lower control arms soon but otherwise a great truck thats paid off. Anyone else feeling like its not worth trading out of the 4th gen?

With the price of new vehicles being so high the market for used vehicles has jumped up also. There is a high demand for used cars that are in good shape. I still have the 2004 I bought in the new model year of '03, so 23 years and going strong. I have no plans to sell or buy a new/newer one. It does everything I need it to do. My wife still drives the '99 Sienna we bought used in 2000. She loves it and doesn't want anything else.

What are you looking for in a used vehicle that you don't have now? My experience with used cars is you're going to be buying something that someone didn't want to pay to have repaired or updated. You'll have that plus a car payment again if you don't have the cash for the difference in price between what you sell yours for and a newer vehicle.

Can anyone explain why V6 2WD has gone up 400-500 pounds in curb weight from 2009 to 2010? Yes, there are 30 more horsepower but that won't make much of a difference on the street.
