upgrade to hood with scoop

Hi everyone, I have a 1998 4 runner sr5. I was wondering if a hood with a scoop will fit mine. Here is a link to the one I have been looking at. 1999 2002 Toyota 4 Runner Hood Panel Primered Black Steel SR5 Limited Scoop Hole | eBay To me it seems like it will fit. Thanks for your help

Should drop right on, you will need the center section out of the scoop though, and those are hard to find.

Should fit no problem. I bought my hood and all the pieces for the scoop new through Toyota. I have a buddy that works at Toyota and get a discount. It's been a year or two but I think I paid $250 for the hood and $140-$150 for the scoop.

I know that sounds like a lot...but I spent 8-10 months looking for a used one. Everyone I came across, the owners thought they were worth their weight in gold...no to mention if you had to ship it. Then I had to paint and fix dents/rust...no way!!

Then there's the aftermarket world. You can buy the hood for $100....but it cost $100+ to ship it! So now you have $200+ into the hood that's NOT Toyota quality and you still have to go to Toyota to get the scoop. For $50 more I got a OEM Toyota hood. Talk to parts guy...they work off commission in a way. Most will work with you on discounts! Yes, you'll have a little bit more more money into it...but you don't have to worry about fitment issues or quality!

I think the scoop looks freakin awesome!! Well worth the money imho!! Good luck buddy!!

Certi-fit has replacement hoods without the inserts which like said above you will have to get that from toyota unless you can find a short and wide dustpan Haha.

My certifit hood fit like OEM for around $90 but I was able to stop by and pick it up to save on shipping.

wow I thought you couldnt even get a sport hood unless you found a used one. If I do ever have some extra cash maybe ill get one and just 3d print the insert piece. haha 115 shipping.

When I bought my 02 Sport Edition, it wasn't listed as a Sport. I was pleasantly surprised to see that it was a Sport Edition with the hood scoop. I frigging LOVE the hood scoop on my 4R. I highly recommend the upgrade to anyone interested. It looks super cool. '

On a side note, every car in my household has a hood scoop. My 4 Runner, my wife's WRX, and my 68 Firebird which has the factory 400 Ram Air style hood with dual scoops.
