Upgrading rotor size to the 338mm

I'm pretty sure I have frozen caliper right now. The casting on the back is 13WG. I was going to get all new front brake parts and got to thinking. I've notice the other calipers (13WL & 13WH) seem to be easier to find a a bit cheaper as well.

I did do a quick search, but has anyone actually done the transistion to the bigger rotor?
Which caliper is used for the larger rotor(13WL or 13WH)?
Is the mounting bracket the only thing that will pull the caliper out to allow the somewhat larger rotor?
Any type of diff brake line?

I'm not looking for huge gains here or anything, nor do I expect it. It's just easier and seems cheaper to get the parts in general for the larger setup. I'm sure I have other questions and thoughts but in a rush right now.

The mounting bracket is part of the caliper so you would have to change out the entire calipers, rotors and the shield behind the rotors.

When I replace my calipers and rotors (Sport, so bigger calipers) I think the stamp was 13WL (the bigger one).

I have heard of people replacing the calipers 13WL to 13WH because of availability and price. According to them they say they didn't feel any difference at all and honestly I would have to agree that the difference will be too minimal to notice. Your better off getting better break pads then bigger calipers as far as how it will perform.

I need calipers anyways, figured that there may be another bracket that I would need.

I don't expect mouch of a performance difference with the swap. I was just thinking since I'm already planning on getting new calipers, pads and rotors if it were cheaper to go with the bigger size. I wasn't sure if there were other parts to consider that I may need to change.

I need to look at some dimensions for the different calipers, I was thinking just the rotor was bigger and a bracket in the back extended it out further to allow the larger diameter rotor.

So u want to put the sport rotors on correct? From my understanding its just the bracketPM skylinegtrracer. He did that setup..

I did a BUTLOAD of reading on this subject recently as I am doing brakes and suspect my caliper is bad. I decided to keep the same caliper size BUT get EBC greenstuff 6000 SUV pads and EBC Sport(?) Rotors drilled and slotted for front and rear EBC green6000SUV but standard rotors. With the all the upgrades I figured I didn't need larger calipers.
Caliper Casting #'s data below will give you what sizes the calipers are.
13WH- 13.3 diameter
13WL- 12.6
13WG- 12.6
Don't just guess what you have and especially what you order make sure the orders are correct.

I swapped for the bigger rotors...but you have to get the bigger calipers too. Unfortunately i don't remember which is which but it was 3 trips to the auto store i remember that much. But, I actually had 2 different size rotors on my truck!?!?! I know. one side was smaller so i ordered both small...then the other side was bigger so I'm like eff it and went 2 calipers and 2 rotors. Set me back a couple hundred but it was done and if you're going to do it might as well go big right? No need to change the shield just the caliper and rotor. Bolts right up!

When you decide what pads to go with I highly recommend the Trd pads. Low dust after break in, no noise ever, and consistent performance between hot and cold. Well worth the extra money.

That's the thought since I'm planning on getting rotor, pads and calipers already. Just didn't know if there was anything else that I'd have to change if I was going with the different setup.

I had to get new calipers and pads on the front earlier this year. I talked to my mechanic about upgrading to a larger size, but he said that I would need new backing plates and he would have to order them. I didn't want to leave the truck for another day or two, so I stayed with the original size.
