Upgrading Sound System

Hey, I'm looking to upgrade my soudn system on my 2000 t4r, but I really don't know what to do first.

I'm thinking about subs, speakers, and a new indash head unit.

I'm limited on money so what I plan on doing is upgrading 1 thing at a time. Which one of these things will give me the biggest boost in sound and which one would you guys recommend upgrading first?

what i did when i was in your position was to get a good HU with an amp and 1 sub. i filtered all the highs to my stock speakers, and the lows to the sub. the system sounded really rich. now that i saved up more money, I'm getting a new system. good luck!

you can check out my current setup by clicking the link in my signature. all of it costed me about $500.

I plan on doing that but as of now I have like $200-$250 at absolute max to spend. I need to start saving up again.

Spent too much money in the past, wasn't really thinking ahead.

I would say save your money for a good system, one that you'll be happy with. If you're going to do it, then you have to do it right. I believe I did it right the first time, but I'm still not satisfied. By having to upgrade now, I'm losing the money I spent on my first system.

I'm in the same boat as you...well I have the money to go all out right now, but I can't drop that much money at one time without wanting to cry...so I just bought a new head unit (Alpine CDA-9847) and am waiting to check out some speakers that I like. You can get a good in dash for what you have now, you don't want a crappy one anyway for under 200 (in my opinion) This way you have lots of ways to go...

I'm looking to get my i-Pod connected next which 's more imporant than the speakers to me right now, since really my stocks don't sound that bad. But I agree with Trance, wait until you can get a really nice one instead of just a quick fix crap one.

Just bought those. Saw the price on ebay for like $40 with shipping and handling, brand new sealed. And said, what the hell and took it.

Now I have like $150 to spend. Right now I'm looking at http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=3470

I haven't decided if i'm going to buy the head unit and install both at the same time or just install the speakers and save up a bit more for the head unit. Will it be cheaper to do it all at once or individually?

Anyone know how much approximately it is for installation of a head unit and frotn door speakers?

And that head unit's amp can power the speakers until I get a new amplifer right?
