upgrading the lights on a 2004 Limited

I am far from an expert, but as deer frequent my roads, I would like to upgrade my light, both low and fog, with a good and simple to install kit of high end bulbs.
Can you suggest what should I look into?

I'm in the same boat with an '04, I installed 9006 HID's into my fog lights. Results were great, the cutoff with the projector fogs is actually quite clean, and because they are so low, they don't blind oncoming traffic.

I want more though, but i'm reluctant to put hid's in the reflectors, so my next lighting upgrade will be 06 headlights, garnish and HID's.

I'm not in any way an "expert" on mods... But, I've done some reading and searching on HID (have them in my other vehicle and love them, miss them on the 4R) and from what I have gathered you will get a better bang for your buck by having the S2000 or Acura TL (?) mod done to your existing headlights.

It's something I'd like to have done, but I'm a bit leery of the police pulling me over. My M3 having them is one thing, my 4R, not so sure about the attention.

hir bulbs, theres plenty of threads on them for an 04. HIR 9011 and 9012 bulbs are exactly identical in all dimensions to 9005 and 9006 bulbs, except for two areas, the second of wh HIR Headlights 9011 9012 bulbs Search http://store.candlepower.com/ph3rdge90h.html the phillips low beam bulb is 175 lumens more than a stock 9005 high beam & only 55w, so imo, u may not mind spending the xtra $ for it.

OEM replacement housings are only $125 or so per side. Some people are running those with HID bulbs and appear to be okay. I need my truck for work, so I wouldn't be able to afford the type of downtime required to attempt a retrofit.

I do agree that going with a retrofit will give ideal results though. If you have time time/resources/tools to complete one, that's definitely the way to go.

There are a few recent threads on upgraded lights.

My opinion: Just run standard hi-beam bulbs in your low-beam headlights. You'll get a 70% increase in light output without any worries of frying your wiring harness or connectors. I've been running this set-up for about 3 years now and it's a great improvement.

Fog light

Any advice on a bulb that will give the fog lights a much needed upgrade. As they are now -- it's a minimal addition to lighting. Much appreciate the expertise I see in this forum.

I installed Hoen Endurance yellow fogs. They are very bright and very yellow.
