Upped my tire size to 265/70/17 and getting rubbing, help.

I think it depends upon the the tread pattern you are using.
I just bought a set of Good Year Wrangler with Silent Armor 2 days ago and I have intentionally tried to get some rubbing but I do not find any. These are also 265/70/17.
A few other threads on these boards have reported the same rubbing, but it is with various tires.

Not all tires are created equal...even if they have the same set of numbers on them...
If you take the 265/70R17 size and look at various tire specs (such as tirerack), you might see that there are some significant difference between manufactures and models (even in the same class of tire).
Things likes section width, tread width, weight, tread depth and even overall diameter can be slightly to significantly different.

I have those exact tires (same make/size), check my sig. Anyways, I have never rubbed even if I tried, and I did. btw, the spacer lift is not installed.

These are on my '07 T4R Sport. Unfortunately I did not get anything for my old tires. I don't like throwing away coin, but it was not a big deal for me because I knew I was getting these tires.
As for the Silent Armors - so far I have dropped about 1.5 mpg based upon my assessments. Smooth riding tire, especially on these country roads in the sticks. Looking forward to getting out in the first real snow storm to see how they do.
Personally I wanted a more aggressive tire and if it was not going ot cost more for the Mountain/Snowflake Canadian rating then why not?
Tire Warehouse put in the Nitrogen as part of the tire care package so I can top off every time I need to for no cost with free rotations - but I rotate my own tires anyway so it is not a big deal for me.

They are P rated tires.
The tires are larger, more rubber contact, stiffer compound than the original Dunlops. I also think that the cross section is actually wider than the Dunlops. Just my guess.
Of course since I have put the tires on I have been hitting some really strong headwinds when driving to work and home. Just seems to be the way the wind is going at those particular times.
Things might change, but that is my assessment.

I'm sure the drop came from going up a size. You also have to factor in that you actually travel more miles than what the odo. shows now.
I should be able to get my Revos through the winter. They have 35k on them , but I see how they do in the first snow fall. If I'm not comfortable I'll get new ones.
I really don't know what I'll get next though. I would like to stay with a "P" rated because of ride , milage , ect... but would want the extra 3/32" tread that a "C" rated provides.
