Upper Brake Light not working...

My upper brake light has not worked since I bought my four runner. I replaced the socket and bulb. Is there a fuse somewhere between the front and back of the vehicle? I'm not getting any power to the light. It's possible it could be continuity issues in one of the wires. Any ideas??

Strange, I just found out my 3rd brake light doesn't work. Haven't looked at it yet, but hoping it's just the bulb.

you mean the CHMSL under the spoiler?

You mean an upper brake light in one of the tail lights or the 3rd brake light up top on the hatch? Let's be clear what we are diagnosing via long distance...

Yes, its the brake light under the spoiler, I see people all over the place with them out on similar vehicles and I figured it could be a common problem

So does anyone know how to remove the lens cap. I have a '08 SR5 with the 3rd brake lamp out. No screws present, so I assume this needs approached from inside somehow. Or maybe the lens cap just snaps on.
I certainly hope I do not have to remove the headliner.
Any idea's would be appreciated.

Sounds like you don't have the spoiler, the owner's manual covers how to pry the 3rd brake light lens off to replace the bulb(s). You wouldn't be able to get to the light through the headliner because the light is mounted on the hatch door.

Thanks, Uneek. I found anaother thread that has procedure posted.
Seems really straight forward.
