Anyone know good legal 4x4 accessible trails that allowing camping in upstate ny. I know they exist but I don't know exact locations. Or does anyone know where I can find that out? Thanks.

I heard there is a n off road park opening over by Wurtsboro...and there's Raush Creek...I believe they both offer camping. In PA most State Parks over an entire network of fire roads that can offer great exploring...my favorite is Worlds End.
There's also Promised Land in the Poconos, as well as Hickory Run. Don't know inJorsey...who the hell camps in Jersey anyway....nothing but friggin sand....; )
Close by to me I like Sylvan Lake, Faunstock State Park, ...and lots of places along the NY, Vermont, Mass.boarder.
If you want to wheel and camp in Vermont, the Overland Rally at the end of Sept. is a premier event.

I actually sylvan lake upstate ny a few times actually.. Really nice place with great fishing, but i dont remember any actual offroad trails, but it has been a while

Im considering planning a trip to the worlds end state park in PA... how are the trails in there? and the camping situaiton? anything specific you recommend checking out over there?

There's awesome hiking up to Canyon Vista from the camping area, or you can drive. There's tons of fireroads, and minimal cell coverage, so maps or other ways to get your bearings will be helpful. You will eventually come out somewhere, but maybe not where you were hoping. The forests are primitive and huge, extremely dense. The Loyalsock Creek is across the road from the campgrounds, and I guarantee you have never been in colder or clearer water...with tons of swimming holes, and "chutes" of smooth rocks for the kids to glide down.
There is a swimming park as you first enter the park, where the cabins are located, and a picnic area. The campground had grown in quite a bit from when we use to go there as a lad...we spent many summers there, it was .50 cents a night back then. Loyalsock Forest is pristine.
There are rattlesnakes (like many areas in Pa., so be aware of your surroundings and don't fly down trails haphazardly with looking a bit, although I've never had a problem. There's a small town called Dushore nearby (10-15 miles), to pick up supplies if need be.
There's a town called Eagles Mere that is pretty cool to visit, but it's not a theme park...it's what you make of it, and you're looking for quiet, and secluded, it's a nice trip....a good stress reliever!

sounds like exactly what the type of thing im looking for.. Dont have any kids.. just the gf our puppy and another couple with there truck.. Any other recommendations similar to that is appreciated, we are making a list lol
