Yeah, but they're safer than the on-road version. Besides, I don't plan on bailing at 75mph, I don't even think I'll run it top speed that often anyways, I'm just looking for the thrill of the acceleration, and spanking big-block boats and lesser PWC's all over the water...chunderboy said:

I bought the 4Runner to keep to keep untill one of us dies. I have had the Jeep for 20 years and beat the crap out of it and it is still going strong, so I should have the Runner for at leat 20 more years. In the mean time I want someting fast.

This maybe a silly question, but are they meant for fresh water or salt?
First of all, that Sea Doo is sick. Wow.
I always thought I would want something sporty after this car, but now I think I may stay in the SUV fam. Maybe 2nd gen Lexus GX?
I ordered the fiance a MINI Cooper for xmas and must say that I'm pretty excited about it. Those cars are A LOT of fun to drive. It gets here next week and I think I'm more excited about it than she is.

A while back my friend was thinking of getting a minivan. I actually talked her out of it and convinced her to get a 4Runner instead - 2000 Limited. Says she's glad she listened to me. When my second daughter was born, my mother and father in-law both suggest I get a minivan too. In my mind I was like,"...are you f%#!ing kidding me?! I'm getting a 4Runner!" Pays NOT to listen sometimes.
My next ride will most likely be a 2009-ish 4Runner Sport Edition 4x4 V8. I say goodbye to those damn 3rd row seats forever! Unless my wife would prefer a Lexus of some sort. Must be nice to be at the Lexus dealer and be waited on hand and foot while in for an oil change. I can have them wipe my @$$ with fine silk napkins while I take a crap or something in their restroom.

Let me ask you guys this (and sorry for the thread jacking), do you think that there will be a totally new re-designed 4runner in or around december of 2007?? Reason being, that is when my lease is up

Doubt it. The generation/design cycle has been like 6 years or something for the 4runner so far? If that is the trend then it will likely be minimal changes for 2007 model. New redesigned 2008 models though by 12/07? Anyone's guess. Just pure speculation though.

Well I have an 04 CLK500 Benz to cruise around when I want to drive something different. I also have an 04 Honda Civic that is collecting dust in the driveway (Need to sell the darn thing). I'd consider a Range Rover Sport or even the Escalade but they are overpriced if you ask me. If I had to choose something else right now it would be a 911 TT or a SL55.

I own two Lexus vehicles. The bathroom is clean but nothing fancy. The coffee is the same crap they serve in the Toyota showroom but is is fresh, they brew it about every 15 min. Never saw any fine silk napkins, but because at Lexus you have to pay almost the sticker price, they do kiss your butt a lot.
A oil change at Lexus will cost you double the same oil change at Toyota. When you bring in your Lexus you always go to a nice office and the person that writes you up does make you feel very important. And they hand wash your car and dry it before you get it back. Most expensive car wash around.
As I'v esaid before...
For what you pay, the girl in the front desk at the LExus Dealership should put on the knee pads and give my drive shaft some action.
Many years ago when I was a young buck I went to a Mercedes Dealer in Indianapolis to look for a used benz--nothing fancy, just a nice used benz about 10 years old but immaculate. Found a nice four door I could afford.....coffee served ifn nice china and not paper cups. I gues Lexus uses foamcups...anyway the salse guy wrote hte price down on a nice pad nad slid it across the table to me. No need to even speak of such crudities as "price"......how vulgar!
Even took me through the service bay....spotless with technicians, not mechanics, but technicians in white lab coats....sales guy introduced me to "Otto" their chief technician. "Otto was trained in Stuttgart!" He said that with such pride and ram rod straight back as if I was given an inspection of the 3rd SS Panzer Regiment or something...I half expected Otto to give a sharp bark of Seig Heil, click his heels, and start a rousing round of Deutche Ubber Alles!
Anyway, the deal fell through as I was a young buck and banks didn't want to finance a young buck. But it was fun and memorable for a young Army officer as I to be treated like a somebody.
