URD 255 Fuel Pump upgrade. Who has opinions on this?

I am purchasing an 08 4runner v6 sport 4x4 soon that has 141k on it. Was doing some research but couldn't find a thread detailing who all has done this upgrade and what their thoughts were on it.

I am going to try and get this puppy to go another 300k miles and thought this upgrade might be useful for longevity of engine, injectors etc and worth the money for $185 and about 3 hours.

Then again I have kept tabs on the "Highest mileage 4th gen 4runner" thread and none of the guys had mentioned doing this so wondering if I should even consider it if my 4runner is already going to go forever regardless of what I do or do not do it then I will pass but thought it might be a cool project and refresh for the fuel system.

I have more confidence in the existeng OEM one than an aftermarket one where they are trying to tell you the original creates a "dangerous lean mixture" after 30k.

Toyota fuel pumps don't burn out as easily as say GM ones.

It's up to you, if you have the money to spend and you don't mind the labor of dropping the tank to make it fit, go for it. But honestly, I wouldn't bother with it yet.

If you're bent on replacing the perfectly good OEM fuel pump why not go with the tried and true Walbro 255 l/hr? It's been used and proven forever. I have had my in tank Walbro on my RB swapped s13 for over a decade

Okay cool. Cheers guys thanks. Had no immediate plans just wanted to see what the general consensus was. If the pump goes out (hopefully never haha) then I'll look into these options then!
