URGENT: Need help installing Pionner P3300BT headunit!!!

Hey guys, so i just picked up a new pioneer p3300bt head unit today from bestbuy and thought i could install it myself. Now i already got the original radio out and i see all the wires in their plastic harness, but i dont really know how to connect those to the pioneer unit. The pioneer unit has the wires stripped, but no harness. Do i need to get that? Thanks!

You need Metra kit for direct plug-n-play. If needed fast go to local Best Buy they should have it in stock. GL

Oh one more thing, where does the parking break wire go? i will bypass it later but right now i just want it installed normally.

Just do the bypass now. These units are so limited without it.
 
I think it would be easier to splice it to your ground now, than hook it up and change it later if that is your ultimate goal.
 
With the Pioneer it's not as simple as grounding the parking brake wire, that won't work. You have to use a relay because the wire has to be ground in the proper order, not grounded all the time. Search youtube for this (using the head unit name and keyword bypass) and you should find a tutorial on how to do it. Very easy, just takes a few minutes of your time.

WEll i got everything installed and working except the parking brake wire. So i cant watch movies yet on it, but i heard mixed things about grounding the wire vs using a relay. I dont know which one to try. If i ground the wire do i just link the parking brake wire to the stereo ground wire?
 
Ok i got the head unit installed and it's working, but now there's about 1 inch of space on the right and left side of the unit. Pioneer only provided one flimsy frame that doesn't fit to fill in the gaps! (i can upload pictures if that helps) but now i don't know what to do. Any suggestions?
 
I installed the AVH-4300DVD. Grounding the wire didn't work, the relay did. Pioneer changed that with the newer models, yours should be the same. You will need a dash kit for the gap. Did you have the OEM CD changer? That will determine which kit you need, I'll post that info for you once I know what your stock setup was.

it was just the regular non jvc unit single disk with a tape deck. Thanks for helping me out man. Now i just gotta find out where to get it!

-Yes. There are two part numbers, most stores that carry car audio will have them. I used the Metra kit, Scosche also makes them. One is a bracket, the other is just the side pieces. The side pieces are what you need (the full bracket is for ones with the OEM changer). Part number you need is the Metra 95-8202. For reference, the 95-8210 is the one that works with the changer.

Sweet. My local car toys has the Metra 95-8202 so i'm gonna go pick it before they close tonight.
 
For video bypas all you need is a switch. I ordered factory DAC switch, placed DVD sticker on it, then fit it in ceter console where "dead" buttons are. Factory look comes @ $58, but worth it for me.
 
Does anyone know if this works for the parking brake bypass?

it says that all i need to do is Connect black wire on module to radios black wire (radio ground wire)
Connect green wire on module to radios light green wire (parking brake wire - do not make any other connections to this wire)
Connect blue wire on module to radios blue/white wire (remote amp turn on - will not interfere with amplifiers connect to this lead)

Does this sound right? It's only 0.99 but i dont want to mess anything up.
 
The relay bypass always works, not like the switch which u will always have to flip. That one on ebay will work, its identical to what you will make by following the instructions posted on youtube.
 
ok i will order the ebay part now so that it comes early this week. I also purchased the Metra 95-8202 from a Car Toys on my way home from work and installed it about an hour ago. The head unit looks flush with the rest of the dash now! No more gaps! Now i gotta wait for the ebay bypass. Thanks again for the help guys! I'll probably take a picture of it and put it up tomorrow so you guys can see the finished product so far!

How do like your pioneer unit so far? I ordered the same unit last week. Thinking of doing the bypass right away as well. How is the sound compared to stock?
