So while I was adding an extra 12v dc plug in the center console, I decided to add a USB charger too for fun since I have so many gadgets that need charging. This was a lot easier than I thought.
You need to buy a 12v dc to usb charger. I used this one

you probably dont need to tear the plastic off from around the charger casing. you might be able to just solder wires directly to the connection points. I just tore the plastic off.

Also buy a male/female USB cord. I had a long one laying around so I just shortened it and used what i had. This one looks good but is not what I used.

mark your usb on a blank. I just outlined the end. I used a utility knife to cut the usb slot out.

The usb cable may or may not need to be cut in half and soldered. it depends if you can cut the extra rubber off the cable so it can slip through
I cut the plastic off the female end of the usb cable so it can sit nice

now conncet everything together and hardwire the usb charger in.
