Used Murphy's Oil Soap for car wash - AWESOME!

I have been buying pretty expensive car wash products for years. Everything from carnauba “wash and wax” to plain old car wash soap.

I was out of the expensive stuff, so on whim, I used what I had on hand – “Murphy’s Oil Soap”. The stuff costs about $4.00 a bottle at WalMart.

I am really impressed with the result. Rig is clean and very, very shiny. No streaks, easy rinse off and inexpensive.

Since it is me posting you know what I will say works even better........

From another post BD did you ever find any of the spark plug in the cylinder?

Pretty sure MOS will strip off your wax. Better options IMO (I HATE waxing).

I claybar it once a year and then wax it about 2-3 times a year with McGuiar's NXT 2.0

I was surprised (and a little skiddish about using the Murphy's) but it was the only thing I had on hand and I did not use much (about 1/4 cup to a gallon of water). It really looks freshly waxed now.

It might but it sure does max the existing wax bead up water better. I think if it was stripping the wax, it wouldn't bead so well.....

We looked into it with a borescope and nothing there. Engine runs fine so I think it must have been ejected through the exhaust (LUCKY ME!)
