Using a CB Antenna for a Radio

Well I got my CBI Offroad ditch light brackets and theyre awesome, aside from the fact that my OCD is KILLING me that the passenger side one rides right on the antenna.

The plastic gear is broken, it doesnt go down, and honestly I only get around 2 radio stations I like.

So can I mount a CB Antenna on the rear of the truck and just connect it to my radio?

Or is it more complicated than that?

There is more to it than that. I have been running a CB antenna for my AM/FM radio antenna for a while now. I have been really impressed with the reception in very remote areas.

I just got done replacing my stock antenna with a CB antenna yesterday using the CBI antenna mount. Besides the regular CB items (whip, coax, mount), you'll need a splitter to take the cb coax and allow you to plug up to both your radio and cb.

And picture of the whip mounted in the factory location. The coax is run along the same path as the factory antenna, then routed under the shifters and cup holders to the splitter box, then the antenna out coax from the box is run to the radio. Seems to work well so far, and got rid of the antenna motor, and stripped antenna.
