Using a Smaller Spare??

For those of you with the 4th Gen's that have changed your tires to the 265/70/17 but left the spare at the stock 265/65/17.........Have any of you had to use your spare yet? Did the smaller spare have any affect on driving? I was just wondering if the vehicle senses the smaller tire and reacts in any way?

VSC might think one wheel is slipping since the 265/70 is about an 1" bigger in diameter. If you have a V6 and have to use the smaller tire, put the tire on the front and keep the Runner in 2WD. I wouldn't recommended using the mismatched tire for too long though...

Yes, VSC is my concern.....I have the v8 so placing the tire on the front is not an option.
Has anyone experienced this? I don't really want to buy the spare if it is not necessary. Any thoughts???
