Using Rigid D2s for street use?

I think you would be fine if you have them hooked up with a relay so that turn on and off with your high beams. Thats how my HID 700FF's are setup and they are alot brighter than D2's and i have never had an issue.
Keep in mind that it is illegal, and you could get in trouble for it. that being said if you are smart about it you will be fine.

Lol yea that's a good indication
One thing I really like them for though is DRLs. Especially with how non-attentive drivers are up here, people tend not to cut me off as much in traffic when I've got the LEDs on. Soon as it gets dark, I shut them off. Sounds silly, I know...

That's what I did with mine, but I haven't had a chance to use them yet. Did you have yours aimed straight or down when the cop flashed you?
I actually aimed mine pretty low to avoid the cop situation and put more light on the ground for shitty weather. Works great, well, except for the

That's not a half bad idea we have plenty of tards here in AZ... Although 35s, armor, and paint that says you don't give a **** usually persuades people to stay clear

isnt the main laws saying no more then 4 lights up front on at a time. (head lights and fogs) not including little lights like the running or parking lights. (state laws change)
thats why when you turn your hi beams on your fogs turn off, because on our vehicles the high beams are inside the low beams (double filament bulbs)
not to mention there are height limits too, lights cant be above X height.
I run led as fogs when ever my head lights are on and have been on my truck for over a year and done thousands of miles, no pull overs from them.
just some input...

For a while a made a cover for my LEDs, it was amber and read TOYOTA. It really turned heads which means people can see you and then gtfo of your way. Anyways I got these BMW led fogs a while back and haven't mounted them, I was thinking I'd mount them in the corner marker spots, then I would have quad headlights, they're the exact same size as my projectors. Plus I kind of screwed up the corner markers when I took them apart.

Yes, but they have to be DOT lights. Rigids are "for offroad use only", and aren't DOT approved. So technically we shouldn't turn them on when we're on pavement at all, but I think if I aim them low and only use them for low visibility situations, I can get away with it.

I use my D2 amber driving lights on the road, and never had a problem. However I usually only use them when its raining or foggy, so that probably reduces the brightness to oncoming drivers.

Regarding the DRL did you have them wired to an ignition relay? Or manual switch?

You cannot aim them low enough to "be effective and not blinding." To confirm, have a buddy walk down the street. You then start with the lights pointed right at the ground, slowly lifting until he says "ya if I was in a car that's be blinding." You'll be surprised at how low that happens. D2s are designed to send light everywhere.
