Using Taco LBJ and tie rods

I understand that there are a few people out there that have upgraded their LBJs and tie rod ends to the Taco ones. Are these direct bolt on with no additional changes required. Are they really that much heavier duty? Anyone have the toyota part numbers as I was going to replace mine using factory parts as they aren't that much more in price but again, if I can upgrade for the same price I will.

Thanks!

For some strange reason the Taco parts have caused some fitment/contact issues. Strange because they are so similar.

I will also add that the 4runner parts do hold up for over 100,000 miles. Just make sure that you spend the money on only Toyota OEM parts. The others do wear out prematurely.

ball joint discussion

Thanks for pointing me to that long discussion on using the TACO ball joints. After reading all 19 pages it seems like some people are having problems and others are not. Kinda weird but I'm not willing to play Guinnea Pig so I'll stick with stock ones.

Thanks again!

I have the Taco LBJ's and one part of it contacts under flex. You can see the metal has gotten worn away. It only rubs a hair now
