v6 2wd 3rd member question(parts truck if anyone local wants stuff off it too)

so i know this will bolt right up to my 3rd gen but im wondering if any of you know or have a good idea of what the v6 2wd gearing was. i just picked up a 94 runner last night that im gonna be parting out, i bought it for the 3rd member (hoping it would have 430s but not knowing...) also i want to take the larger rear drums and put on my 85 pickup(stock non-ifs rear end) my question is can i separate just the drums off the axle shafts and put them on my 85 or would i need to keep the shafts attached?

Since the later axle is 3" wider than the 85 axle, you will have to swap the drum brake assy from one axle shaft to the other. You can't swap the entire axle shaft, the 94 is too long.Or you could weld some leaf spring perches onto the 94 axle and swap the entire axle onto the 85 truck.

Specifically, get the Axle code from the bottom of the VIN plate and look that up on the above site.

no no i get that the axle is wider, and id have to separate the shafts..
i was just wondering if it was possible to press out the shaft(i have sense learned it is but it would be a bit of work and id need to do new bearings... by the time all is said and done, it would be easier to just get a v6 rear end out of a pickup and swap that way.

8" diffs are all the same, they will all swap from one to another. but yeah i just found out it was a 390 so no go their either, so now the whole truck its going to be parted out.

on a better note i found a complete rear axle (drum to drum) for $250 out of a 97 limited 4runner (430 gears and thats what i need) so im gonna go snag that time MEOW
