V6 4Runners - set to 2WD mode before greasing driveshaft

If you have a V6, before you grease the drive shaft. Drive your 4runner, set it to 2WD first and then grease the zerks. YOu are then able to rotate the front of the drive shaft if you need better access to the zerks.

If you are moving regardless of 2wd or 4wd all driveshafts will move. The actuator is in the transfer case and our hubs don't unlock.

That would be handy. My V8 full time 4x4 cannot do this and it can be a pain to get the zerks to where you can grease them.
 
I'm confused.

So you're talking about the zerks on the driveshafts? The axle shafts don't have zerks. And you can't spin the driveshafts by hand while under the truck, regardless of what setting the t-case is in. So what exactly do you mean?

Correct no zerks on axles. You can spin the front driveshaft on a v6 in 2wd mode with your hand. We have an actuator on the front diff as well and transfer case. v8 do not have actuator on front diff so you cannot spin yours while parked.
 
Ah Ok. I didn't realize the V6 had a diff actuator. That's kind of unusual these days. Most companies went away from those because they were so unreliable.
