I've been looking through the forum for a while now, and I think I've got a good handle on what I want. I'm looking to buy an early 90s 4runner.
I would like eventually to do a diesel swap, when the gas engine kicks the bucket (if I can't get a diesel 4runner off the bat). I know that the 22r and 22re you can bolt on an L series diesel directly because the engine mounts are the same.
Do any diesel engines bolt into the V6 or will all v6 swaps require significant fabrication? I ask because the V6 are far more plentiful than the 22's.
