V6 exhaust gasket leaking

Hey all,

I noticed that my truck is awfully noisy lately and it looks like a exhaust ring gasket between manifold and secondary cat is completely blown.

I was wondering if anyone have done this repair and knows which ring gasket is needed and which hardware did you use to replace old rotten studs that are attached to the manifold. Is it even a stud type or just regular bolt and nut combination holding those cat converters?

It looks like our manifolds have studs, are they hard to punch out and replace ?

They can be a bear. You will need to soak the 6 studs and nuts also the 2 studs between the y pipe and the cat, and the 1 mounting bracket bolt holding the exhaust with penetrating lube for a couple days before you try and take it apart. Sometimes they come loose. Just go slow tighten and loosen the nuts until they break free.

I replaced mine a year or two ago and it wasn't difficult. I used new factory hardware. The stud is one of those type that's threaded on both ends with a non-threaded bit in the middle.

Thank you all!

I will borrow electromagnetic heater from my buddy. So it should help. I bought all studs, nuts and gaskets from Toyota.
