what i thought may have been my serpentine belt wasn't. there's been a sound coming from the fan clutch area that sounds like a "sssshhhhhhhhhhh" ... i don't know if it's bearings of some sort? the fan is seated properly and rotates fine. i'm not too familiar with diagnosing stuff like this. i was able to change my serp belt just fine (thanks to this write-up) but the sound is still there. any ideas what it could be? i found out by googling around that fan clutches need fluid, could this be it?
