I know i have a V8 but its interesting to see that i get the same gas mileage as a V6. During the summer, the computer says a steady 21.2. Granted there really isn't any "city" driving around here, 40mph average with very few stop lights! Recently my mileage has dropped to 18.4 due to warming up my vehicle every morning and driving behind dumb@$$'s going 25 with only a dusting of snow!!:redbrick: Cant wait till i see a 430 mile range again!!:cheers:

How the F do you get 430 range??? I have a v8 too, but mine goes up to 360-ish range.

That was completely stock. My summer commute is 20 miles at 55mph so i get great gas mileage. What else do you need to know? :shrug:

I average 17, with 95% city driving.

On road trips, though, at about 70mph with lots of mountain passes, we average about 20-22.

Looking at old receipts after a fill up, my range is 420 around town, and 435 out on the interstate. Have hit 24 MPG once, not on my state's ethornal mix.

99% of my driving is city. According to my computer I get around 18-18.5 mpg. I have a TRD cat back and TRD CAI. I usually see 21-22mpg when I do HWY driving only. I maintain my 4Runner on a regular basis.

If you're using the computer to tell you your gas mileage you're doing it wrong. The computer is notoriously INACCURATE. The correct way is to determine how many miles you drove between the last fillup (use the trip meeter) and then divide by the number of gallons you use to fill it up.

This will give you a much closer picture. You really need to keep repeating this method over several fillups and take the average to get a real accurate pic.

No mods to speak of. I did pull the HCF when I bought it but that shouldn't make much, if any difference. Tires are the Michelin LTXs that were put on a few thousand miles before I bought it. I keep the pressure between 32 and 35 PSI, depending on how often I get around to adding air and what season it is.

I usually fill up at Costco when out of town and at the local grocery store in town, both of which are using standard Kalifornia ethanol laced blends but should be fresh since they each tend to sell more fuel than any other station in the area. There is one VP racing just out of town that I've been meaning to do an ethanol test on and if it turns out it's actually ethanol free then I'm going to be buying from them as often as possible.

The SG2 reads voltage in real time.

I changed out the diffs and transer case oil fairly soon after I bought it and went with the standard Mobil 1 that's popular here. Oil had been Mobil 1 5w-30 in the crankcase for the life of the engine (35,000 mi when I bought it) but I'm a fan of Pennzoil Platinum and wanted to try 5w-20 so I went with that and posted my used oil analysis here back in August/September. I dropped new spark plugs in as well and went with the NGK long life iridiums. There are 12 qts of WS transmission fluid that are waiting for me to do a transmission flush one of these weekends.

What speed would you say you drove on the highway? Just curious. I get about 22mpg over short trips (200-300 miles) going 75-80. I just wonder how much my mileage would go up if I slowed down to 70. Not that I'm going to slow down or anything.

Back from the dead lol or at least 2012. There is a guy on ecomodders who hypermilled and pulled 568 miles from a tank. Most I have pulled is around 420 but I did not hypermill, thats dangerous i the city.

And I thought hitting 500 miles on a tank once was pretty awesome! I normally got around 420-450 when stock.

I get at least 20mpg consistently. Mix of flat not much traffic, windy 35mph, hilly over the mountain and stop and go driving. If I put premium I get 21. 2008 Sport 6 4X4

I'm in the same boat as you...I've only had it a month or so now, but in the few tanks I've filled up this was my experience. These numbers were hand calculated by dividing tank mileage at fill up by the number of gallons I had to put in.

90% highway/10% city - 17.1 MPG
30% highway/70% city - 15.5 MPG
0% highway/100% city - 14.1 MPG

Granted I've got 150K on my truck so I'm thinking I need to change out O2 or the A/F sensors. It's about to get new tires and an alignment so I'm thinking that will help a bit since it seems the alignment is a bit off and was causing uneven wear. Other than that no idea what else I could do. I've heard about the Seafoam stuff, but it still kinda seems like snake oil

I almost never see 400 miles on a tank. Usually fillup when the light goes on and get 20 gallons in.

Onboard says 20mpg all summer, 18 in the winter. Whenever I've bothered to hand calculate it it comes out about 2MPG lower.

Before you calculate mileage, double check that your odometer is dead on. Mine is 5% off, so that affects calculated mileage by nearly 1 mpg. Non-stock tires is the biggest contributor to odometer errors, but there may be other causes. Don't automatically assume it's correct.

I check mine by driving 10 miles (at least) on an interstate with numbered mileposts and noting odometer reading at the beginning and end of the 10 mile stretch. A .5 mile difference (easy to see) in 10 miles is 5%.

'96 3.4L here, automatic trans. I average 18-21. I live about 10 miles of highway driving away from my work, about 50-60mph. In town driving as needed. I add in Lucas fuel every 3 tanks or so, or when I fill up for a drive out of town. Doing that gets me 21mpg every time.
